Phils Circus Days

Activities

Scarves
Scarf and Beanbag juggling- even the youngest can learn to throw and catch these colourful scarves, while older children can progress to learning the three beanbag juggle and juggling with a partner!
Bean Bag Juggling
Plate spinning- colourful plastic plates that spin on the end of sticks, and can be passed still spinning from stick to stick and from child to child.
Feather Balancing
Feather balancing- the feather’s lightness and shape make it very easy to balance so children can gain confidence balancing it on their hand, finger or face.
Fun Wheels
Fun wheels and Hand-held stilts- teaching balance and co-ordination. Children also learn to co-operate by helping each other.
Stilts
Ribbons
Chinese ribbons- Colourful ribbons that make patterns in the sky.
Poi
Poi- balls on strings with long tails that spin through the air.
Diabolo
Diabolo- the classic spinning juggling prop, spin the diabolo and then see how high you can throw it!
Tightwire
Tightwire- Two foot high and ten foot long, this is the centrepiece of the equipment. Depending on ability different levels of help can be given to ensure that children get safely from one end to the other.

Many thanks for the wonderful day held at St. Paul’s – it was great to see the delight on the children’s faces.. The children really enjoyed the assembly and the workshops.
The Foundation Stage children immediately returned to their base and made their own circus!
Ricky – class 6 says- the performance was excellent and Phil’s skills were fantastic. I really enjoyed the Diablo because I really need skill to do it!
Jonathan- year 2 says- I think it was quite fascinating and good. I really liked the Diablo because it took an awful lot of skill to master it!
I would recommend your workshop to all colleagues and will no doubt welcome you back to our school in the future.
