About the Circus days
My circus days provide a wonderful introduction to the world of circus skills. I will spend the whole day at
your school educating and enchanting your pupils.
The school day begins with an assembly in which I demonstrate, in a fun and entertaining manner, the skills the
children are going to learn and I perform some amazing juggling to inspire them. This lasts about 30 minutes. |
I then take classes in the school hall for the rest of the day.The lessons vary for different age groups. For every
group I teach scarf juggling, feather balancing and plate spinning to the whole class as a structured lesson.
Other activities are added depending on age, ability and time available. The classes then usually end with free
time for the pupils to try the different skills on their own.
Lesson times are flexible, but a good guide is:
Nursery & Reception: 30 - 45 minutes
Years 1 - 2: 1 hour
Years 3 - 6 & Secondary: 1 hour 15 minutes
At least one other teacher will need to be present at all times and class sizes are generally limited to a
maximum of 35 pupils. |

The sessions were sensational! Every child from 4 to 54(!) had a wonderful time. The most rewarding thing was seeing children's confidence blossom, desperate to show Phil and the teachers what they had learned. I don't think I have ever heard the children laugh so heartily as they did the afternoon of the assembly. Phil is not only an incredibly talented and skillful performer but a great communicator, making all children believe that they could 'do it'! It was an absolute joy and we are already thinking about dates for next year. This is what school should be about - children being given the opportunity to really challenge themselves in fun and exciting ways coming away with a greater sense of self-confidence and belief. Wonderful!
